How do I map a network drive using the Workstation Install of Servant Keeper?

UNC Paths:

The universal naming convention (UNC) is a standard method of naming files and other resources on a network.
In Windows the UNC format is:

\\servername\sharename\filename.extension

Example:

\\server01\servant keeper 6\member.exe

The server computer name is: server01
The shared Servant Keeper folder on the server is: servant keeper 6
The executable file for membership is: member.exe

MappedDrives:
Mapped Drives are a way to link a drive letter that would normally be linked to a CD-Rom drive, hard drive, or some other local device to a UNC network path.

Servant Keeper V6 will run from a UNC path or from a mapped drive. The mapped drive configuration is the preferred setup method and is the workstation setup type we suggest using. Also, the SK setup CD 6.0.10 or newer can create a mapped drive for you during the workstation setup process.
Here are the steps to create a mapped drive using the SK setup CD:

1. Place the SK setup CD in your CD-Rom drive.

2. Click the “Install Servant Keeper” button.

3. Click the “Next” button.

4. Read and accept the license agreement and click the “Next” button.

5. Click the “On a Network PC” install type. Then click on "Workstation"  Several needed files will copy to the hard drive of the workstation PC.

6. Click “Create Mapped Drive”.

7. Choose the drive letter from the drive list. We suggest using the letter “S:” for Servant Keeper. You can use any letter that is not already being used for a drive.

8. Type in the UNC path to your shared Servant Keeper folder on the server PC using the UNC convention \\servername\sharename and click “Next”.

9. When the mapped drive is created you will get a message from setup telling you the drive created successfully.

10. Click “OK” to continue.

Shortcuts are created using the mapped drive letter you selected.

Click “Finish” to exit
